Mary Cuffe Perez is recipient of an Artist’s Grant for Nothing by Name and two Program Grants for The Story Quilt Project through NYSCA, administered through the Saratoga Council the Arts; as well as grants from New York Humanities.

She has won two writing awards from the Adirondack Center for Writing for the creative non-fiction piece, “How to Make Abandoned Orchard Apple Pie,” and for the short story, “Flora”, and a Hudson Valley Writers Guild for "Necessity."  She received an Environmental Feature award from the International Regional Magazine Association for “Lake George’s Murky Future” for Adirondack Life.

Her children’s novel, Skylar was one of the recipients of a KIND award from the Humane Society of the U.S. for promoting the ethical treatment of animals.
