Memphis Mayor Jim Strickland will speak at the Memphis Center for Independent Living Access Awards Lunch honoring Deborah Cunningham.

“Accessing the Future” is the theme of the event and MCIL will award an individual or organization for their commitment to the inclusion of people with disabilities in all aspects of community life and reward one essay contest winner for a short piece on “The Accessible Memphis I want in my future.”


Gina Sweat, Director of Fire Services, will also address the lunch to celebrate and honor the commitment of people with disabilities to equal inclusion exemplified by Deborah Cunningham, the former Executive Director of MCIL.
