Approval or Denial Letters for homeowners-was not provided


The Bid Proposal is not an acceptable document for approval and denial. The Approval letter must be on MCIL letterhead addressed to the homeowner stating their acceptance in the Modification Program. I will also need copies of denial letters for applicants that were rejected.

Proof of current city and county taxes- 3694 Canary 2016 City Taxes are delinquent; for each applicant


All applicants must be current on property taxes. Dollie Gray and Betty Covington are ineligible; their property taxes are delinquent. Provide proof of current status for Foreclosure Prevention for Rita Townsend (Deed Register# 13052994)


3694 Covington is current, as Betty Covington entered Hospice, she made a mistake in payment of the annual county tax payment. Now the City and County websites show that she is current.

3146 Debby ST. Ms. Gray is currently working with Ms. Linda Piggy with the Shelby County Trustee’s office (901-222-0261) on her property tax for both City and County. Ms. Gray last made a payment on August 15, 2017 of $200 and has a plan to pay her 2017 balance and the $121.51 from 2010 so she is able to take advantage of the Shelby County Tax Freeze and the Tax Relief program that she appears to be eligible for. Ms. Gray has an outstanding balance with the City, however please note that her City taxes are paid for the current year and previous tax year (2016). It is her plan to make payment so that her tax bill will allow her tax relief.


When I originally called the County on 8/26/16 Ms. Katrina Madison verified that Ms. Dollie Gray was current with her taxes. She has had a payment plan with the city and county.

Proof of Applicant’s Eligibility-proof of household income for each applicant


Household income verification must not be more than 30 days old at the time of approval. Income information provided for Dollie Gray 3146 Debby and Betty Covington 3694 Canary Cove are unacceptable; provide current statements for each.

Ms. Gray’s only income is from Social Security and an Annuity. Those income sources send statements annually. I have asked for a bank statement,  but her family is reluctant to share the information with me. I do have approval from Ms. Gray and will get verification that is less than 30 days old. Currently Ms. Gray is in the hospital and does not have access to her most recent bank statement.

While the Contractors License for Tijuana Stewart shows it is currently expired, it was valid during the work and completion of the project. Please note that the expiration date is May 31, 2017, not March. Additionally, the contractor has no letters against her and she is not disbarred (later search). Tijuana Stewart of A-Z is working with Ms. Munn of the State of Tennessee to have her license reinstated and reports that it will be active on September 1, 2017.
