FAQ's

Q. Are your eggs Certified Organic?
A. We are currently Certified with Australian Certified Organic.

Q. Do you Supply interstate?
A. At this point in time we only supply in the region of South Australia.

Q. What's the difference between "free range" & "organic"?
A. Free range = non-caged free-roaming over a certain area of land, but free range doesn't take into account the condition of the land. It doesn't consider whether the land has been artificially fertilized with super-phosphates, of chemically contaminated with weed-killers and poisons. Neither does it specify the quality of the food fed to the hens. On top of this, the chicks are immunised with anti-biotics.
Organic means the hens are free-range, roaming on quality pastures that are certified exempt from artificial fertilizers and chemical/poison contaminates, plus they eat top quality certified organic feed, and have not been immunised with anti-biotics.

Q. Why does free-range & organic cost more?
A. Losses due to eagles and foxes.
Losses due to outside weather conditions
More labour intensive to monitor, move and control when not caged in an enclosed weather-controlled environment, plus Organic costs more due to losses from not using anti-biotics (creating natural survival of the fittest), annual certification fees & extra cost of certified organic feed.

Q. What's the advantage of organic free-range?
A. Personal health - Animal health - Environmental health
If you want the best egg for your own health, obviously what the hen eats and the condition of the land in which it forages, is paramount.
You can eat McGwerriton eggs with absolute confidence in their organic nutritional value, and poison-free prime quality.
Plus, McGwerriton offers the freshness of prompt delivery from hen to supermarket shelf. Many mass-produced eggs sit for weeks between collecting, packing, transporting, and shelf-storage. The longer any product sits before being eaten, the more its nutritional optimum is depleted. That's why 5 star restaurants choose our eggs.
You pay a little more for this care and attention, but what's your family's health worth? In the long run, there's nothing more important than what you put into your body, & revitalising our damaged environment. Not just your average egg!
