Find the assignments and tasks to complete in the first week here. These will be due during the second week of class (see the individual assignments for exact dates)

The first "small writing assignment" is due Tuesday February 12. Answers to questions will be discussed in class.

The second "small writing assignment" is due Tuesday March 12.


Check the schedule for additional readings and assignments. Readings and other preparations for each week will be listed in the lab manuals. However, if you want to get started on understanding what the labs will be about then these are great video resources:

Software you will need in this class

These should be found (with the exception of Zotero) on all the computers

Fiji -- for viewing and analyzing images

Zotero -- for organizing papers and finding the assigned reading (you can download this on your own computer but you can also access libraries on Zotero from their website interface)

Python -- for data analysis and instrument control (best to get the Anaconda distribution of Python version 2.7)
