Ingredients:
I pkg Pillsbury Croissants
1/2 Pkg Guava Cheese (Paste), sliced thin
2/3 tblspoon water
1 tblspoon lemon juice
1/2 Pkg Cream Cheese (room temp)
1 tsp vanilla essence
1 tblspoon powdered sugar
Rind 1/2 lemon
Sliced almond
Egg yolk, beaten (egg wash)
Whisk Cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla essence, lemon rind
On low/medium heat melt Guava Cheese, lemon juice, water, stirring continuously to create a smooth thick jam
Open unwind Croissant dough, seal seams and cut in half. Roll out dough gently to thin slightly.
Spead Guava jam on one half of the dough; Cream cheese on the other half.
Carefully place Cream cheese pastry on top of Guava pastry (Sequence should be: Dough/Cream Cheese/Guava Jam/ Dough)
Brush top of pastry with egg wash; top with sliced almonds
Bake 375 for 10 mins. Cut into 9 rectangles
