Public Engagement in Science:
We are dedicated to engaging with the community to explain how and why we conduct our research. We have established a relationship with ThinkTank, the Birmingham Science Museum, to hold regular "Meet the Scientists" events. We are also participating in a symposium at the British Science Festival.
ThinkTank "Meet the Scientists" event, February 2010.
Members of our laboratory teamed up with other members of the University of Birmingham Cognitive Development Group to participate in a "Meet the Scientists" event at ThinkTank. We engaged the children (and adults) in fun developmental psychology games and research technologies, including computer-based assessments of executive control, behavioural assessments of inhibition and theory of mind, the "rubber hand" illusion, and eye-tracking technology.
