The Skimo and his skating buddy are all right: weather and climate are different.
Weather is the condition of the atmosphere at a certain place and time.
Climate is the average weather conditions of a place, based on data recorded over 40 years.
The world can be classified into different climate zones which have similar patterns of temperature and precipitation.
Weather has a huge impact on people´s lives as well. So it is very important to try to predict what the weather will be like. Weather data is collected, processed and analysed by weather experts (=meteorologists); they use the data to forecast what the weather will be like for the next thre or four days.
Thus, let´s learn about the realtionship between concepts of precipitation, atmospheric pressure, temperature, weather and climate.
