Belo Horizonte - MG, Brazil

Prof. Marcelo Becker (D.Sc.)

I am living in Belo Horizonte since 2001, when I was hired by PUC Minas as Associate Professor. Belo Horizonte is a beautiful city surrounded by montains in the heart of Minas Gerais State with aproximatly three million inhabitants. It is the centre of a large agricultural, commercial, and industrial region. It is also the centre for extensive mining and livestock activity. The city has many buildings designed by Oscar Niemeyer, the architect who created Brasilia. Nearby Belo Horizonte, in the country size there is a group of historical cities. In these cities you can find a rich cultural life and the famous cusine from Minas Gerais.
