DemoFTC Bot

I created a demo FTC robot for students and fellow teachers to see the basics of how to put together a robot using the Tetrix system. Below I have attached an app (along with its source code) and an NXT-G program that can be used to control it remotely with an Android device (sadly, I had to use NXT-G because the version of Labview I had was Beta and there appeared to be a bug when attempting to control more than 3 DC motors).

Here's a picture of the program. You'll notice I'm using a few blocks that don't come with NXT-G, the Text-to-Numbers block, the HiTechnic Move Motors block, and the HiTechnic Move Servos block. Follow the links to download and install them.

There are additional loops in this program, but they just control different DC Motors. The basic idea is to transmit info through the mailboxes using the Android device, and to write a program on the NXT to catch the info and use it. Sadly, you can't directly control a Tetrix robot because their are no commands within the protocal to control Tetrix motors. However, this system works well (no noticeable delay), and requires no extra work on the part of the user as the app even starts and stops the program on the NXT. Enjoy.
