Dragon Dash - Wednesday, May 1

posted Apr 22, 2019, 10:06 AM by Tabitha Weiseth
Dragon Dash is an annual spring run for all students at May Street. It is held during the school day and each grade level runs together in half hour slots around the perimeter of the school and grounds.
Dragon Dash is a jog-a-thon type fundraiser.
The money raised this year will support continued PE enrichment programs, as well as other PTO directed projects — including future playground upgrades.
Prizes are awarded . . . . .

  • Class that raises the most money: Party of class choice! You name it--pizza, park, or movie!
  • Class in each grade with the highest number of laps: Extra recess
  • Top 3 students with the most laps, most number of pledges, and who raised the most money: Recognition Board
  • Boy and girl students who run the most laps (Run for Fitness and Dragon Dash laps combined): Be principal for half a day
Collecting Pledges/Donations . . . .

Please ask friends, neighbors and family members to support your student's personal challenge to be healthy by running. Each student should have received a pledge envelope and we want to remind everyone that you can also collect donations online again this year. . . .

In addition to cash/check, students can accept credit card donations.  This is a great way to collect donations from your far flung families and friends, and allow them to help support your child(ren) and May Street!
Just send your family/friends the following link and they can sponsor your child(ren) for the Dragon Dash via credit card!

***Please be sure to have them include the name/grade of the student(s) they are sponsoring.**

You can track online donations that come in for your
child(ren) HERE.

Please do NOT record online donations on the paper pledge envelopes.

Volunteers Needed!

On the day of Dragon Dash, parents are invited to come cheer on the runners, work on safety patrol, help count laps, and keep the event running smoothly. Students will be running around the entire perimeter of the school and field for the Dragon Dash. We need volunteers to help keep students on their running path and for counting laps. This is extra important this year due to the changes caused by the construction.

Please sign up HERE to volunteer and cheer the students on while your child’s grade is running! Parent involvement makes it more fun for everyone.
