transfer station and dispensing the load by means of hydraulically
ejecting the load from the body.  The manufacturer shall have produced
this refuse collection equipment for a period of at least twenty (25)
years.
GENERAL TERMS:
The manufacturer of all equipment provided under this contract shall
be ISO 9001 certified.  All equipment furnished under this contract

The City of Helena West Helena is accepting bids for lawn care of City Park on Old Little RockRoad and Elm Street. The property consists of approximately six (6) acres and will need to be cut at least every other week. Lawn care provider should include all mowing, cutting, trimming, litter clearance and debris disposal in any bid. Additionally, the grass will need to be treated at least once per month with approved chemicals for such treatment. The bid must state at least two (2) things: 1. the cost for each mowing, cutting, trimming, litter clearance and debris disposal; and 2. The cost for each application of chemical. STREET AND DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS

Sealed bids for the construction of STREET AND DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS, in Helena-West Helena, Arkansas will be received by the City of Helena-West Helena, Arkansas, at the office of Helena-West Helena City Hall, 98 Plaza Street, (72390), until 11:00 A.M., on Thursday, September 11, 2008, and then publicly opened and read aloud.

The project includes constructing street and drainage improvements, pavement overlay and other miscellaneous items of work.

All proposals shall be on the forms with the specifications and shall be enclosed in a sealed envelope addressed to the Helena-West Helena City Hall, 98 Plaza Street, (72390) Helena-West Helena, Arkansas 72342" and marked "Proposal for City of Helena-West Helena," STREET AND DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS ". They shall be accompanied by a certified check or a corporate surety's bidder's bond in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the bid, made payable to City of Helena-West Helena, as a guarantee that the bidder will furnish a bond and enter into a contract if his bid is accepted.

The successful bidder must furnish a performance and payment bond upon the form provided in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price from an approved surety company holding a permit from the State of Arkansas to act as surety, or other surety or sureties acceptable to the Owner.

Plans, specifications, proposal forms and other contract documents may be examined at the office of the General Manager, Helena-West Helena Water Department, 702 Cherry Street, Helena-West Helena, Arkansas, and at the office of Marlar Engineering Company, Inc., 5318 John F. The City of Helena-West Helena, Arkansas accepting bids on the installation of a brand name 30 ton package unit with gas heat at the Helena Community Center located at 511 Miller Street, Helena-West Helena, AR 72342. The unit should be installed to meet the following objectives: 20 ga. inside insulated square duct up the building & segueing  to round duct sock run in the trusses 3/4 of the gym with angled discharge; a return down low; iron frame with bars to act as a return grille & burglar bars; replace the existing single phase electrical panel with three phase 400 amp service; run a service to the new a/c unit; concrete slab; labor; permits; taxes; etc. for a complete operating system. Request for Bids (West Helena Municipal Golf Course -- Golf Carts)


The City of Helena-West Helena, Arkansas accepting bids ten (10) new electric golf cars for the municipal golf course. The cars should be 2008 or 2009 model cars with 48 volt electric; self-adjusting rack and pinion steering, Aluminum I-beam corrision resistant frame, dent/scratch resistant body, (4) 12 volt Trojan batteries, retrievable diagnostic info, adjustable speed/breaking, automatic charger, folding windshield, canopy top, single point watering system, 4 year warranty, and set up and delivery to the West Helena Municipal Golf Course. The city is also seeking to lease these cars with a single payment purchase at the end of the lease. The lease must conform to Arkansas law and provide an acceptable, yet competitive, interest rate.  Bids should be submitted to the Office of the Mayor, P. O. Box 248, Helena-West Helena, AR 72342 by mail or in person at 98 Plaza Street, Helena-West Helena, AR 72390. Bids must be sealed and will be opened in a public bid opening session on Tuesday, August 19, 2008 at 10:00 at the Mayor's Office. All bidders must be prepared deliver the cars immediately. All bidders will be considered, however, the City reserves the right to reject all bids.
