Castlebar Concert Band has been in existence since the early 1920s under various names. As one of the few remaining working bands in the Connacht region, it is an integral part of the local community, and participates regularly at many local events, including parades, civic events, sports fixtures, local festivals, street carols, and church services.

Band members come from Castlebar and surrounding towns in Co. Mayo. The band is currently under the baton of Musical Director Mary Curran and covers a wide range of styles including classical, pop, jazz, and marching tunes.

Castlebar Concert Band practises every Tuesday evening throughout the school year. Practices take place in St. Patrick’s National School from 8pm to 9.30pm. The band welcomes new members to complement our existing musicians. If you can play a brass, percussion, or woodwind instrument please contact us. Alternatively, if you would love to brush up your existing skills or learn from scratch we also have tutors to assist you.

CCB is affiliated to the Mayo Concert Orchestra and the Mayo Youth Orchestra.
