Maynooth finish fourth in 2010 Intervarsity

Congratulations to all who participated in this year's intervarsity.  Maynooth finished fourth, as high as we've ever managed before, just 11 points off the winners, UCC.  An excellent performance and a sign that we're not far off the standard if we get our act together.

The Maynooth score was all the more impressive given that the planned practice day on Wednesday was cancelled because of the poor weather.  As it happened, the day itself was beautiful, with lovely sunshine for the whole day.  Woodbrook played long and tough but was an excellent challenge and very enjoyable in such good conditions.

The pairing of John Behan and John Maloco brought in Maynooth's best score of 39 points.

It was good to have some new blood in the team as well.  David Cusker and Fr Donal O'Neill played for the first time in the intervarsity and performed excellently.

Well done to all.
