Roger Anderson

Deceased 2007

Following Roger’s graduation from Boston University, he became a computer specialist for the Department of the Interior in Wash. DC. He was very involved in computer technology, including developing the largest and most inclusive econometric computer model used by world governments for the exploration of oil and gas. He led the U.S. team for the study of gas and oil exploration in Alaska.

Roger retired from the Dept of the Interior after 30 years of service and continued to remain active at home in bringing technical information to citizens. He developed a computerized mapping system using information from his county’s geographical database to provide everyone with local maps for the Neighborhood Watch Program.

Roger was married to Judith, a school teacher, and they have one son, John. Roger suffered the ravages of Parkinson’s Disease and became bedridden. His wife quit her job to provide full time care. Until that time, Roger and his wife never missed a class reunion, making the trip up from Virginia. We remember Roger’s infectious laugh and his gritty determination on the football field as an MHS lineman.
