Peter Braunert
After coming to Maynard in 1958 from Germany, many Classmates were very helpful by offering their assistanceIn learning the English language and help me graduate in 1961; many thanks.
Shortly after graduation I joined the Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1965.
I spent most of my time at the Air Base in Tampa, Florida, with the exception of about 9 months, which was in Vietnam.
During my time in Florida, I also played soccer for the St.Petersburg Soccer Club, and we were successful in winning the state Championship.
Upon returning to Maynard in 1965, I worked in Waltham at Standard-Thomson for 8 yrs., and went to Bentleys College at night.
During this period I met my wife and we spent 22 yrs together before separating. We had two children, Debbie and Karen, and now have a grandson Ryan, graduated from High School in June 2019, and a granddaughter Emily who will be 4 in August of this year.
I then joined Bellofram in Burlington, Ma and later Pelham, NH, and when the company moved to W.VA, just west of
Pittsburgh, I decided to move as well; spending a total of 33 years with Bellofram.
After a brief retirement of a few years, I moved back to New England, for a job in Somersworth. NH. Unfortunately things
Did not work out, and I returned to W.VA after about 3 yrs.
However, I was determined to return to the New England area and joined a company in Amherst, NH as a Sales & Marketing Consultant.
With a better opportunity in sight I joined a German company early in 2019, and are able to work from home, part time.
Maybe after a few more years I will decide to Hang it up, so to speak.
Looking forward to our Re-union on June 21, 2019 in Maynard.
