Genny Bee May-Montt was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. She began her art education as a young child, ultimately being accepted into the Los Angles High School for the Arts.
For a time, she pursued more conventional work, eventually becoming a Medical Assistant. While she enjoyed this work, it did not fulfill the creative side of her personality. She left a stable career and returned to school, eventually graduating from California College of the Arts in San Francisco.
Currently, abstraction plays a key role in her endeavors. Though primarily a painter she will incorporate other elements in her practice.
Her work has been exhibited in group shows around the San Francisco bay area with several pieces in private collections.
