The Peoria Journal Star headline declared that "Economic development is at the forefront" for Peoria County.

The speech also highlighted the County's balanced $128 million budget noting that to "maintain financial stability, the County Board adheres to conservative financial policies..."

The opening of Heddington Oaks in West Peoria (at $2M under budget) was another point of pride for Peoria County this past year.
