1. Introduction

The purpose for creating this personal website in 2013 was mostly to make my scientific work accessible online; especially the publications that previously had not been available in digital form, such as guidebook contributions and maps. In a way, this is a look back and a summary of a science career that has spanned by now more than forty years. The publications are mostly related to the geology of Mexico, early ones to the geology of the Jura mountains in France and Switzerland. Most of them are case studies of map to outcrop-scale brittle deformation either in fold-thrust belts (Sierra Madre Oriental fold-thrust belt of east-central Mexico and Jura fold-thrust belt) or in active extensional tectonic provinces (trans-Mexican volcanic belt of central Mexico and the southern Basin-and-Range Province of Sonora, Mexico). My current research is about active faulting and historical earthquakes in west-central Mexico (Guadalajara region).
