I am an Adjunct Lecturer in the Department of Music Technology and Acoustics, Hellenic Mediterranean University teaching courses around Audio Programming, an Education Advisor at the "Acoustic Design and Digital Sound" Master's Program at the Hellenic Open University and a Research Associate / Principle Co-Investigator at the Institute for Language and Speech Processing, Athena Research and Innovation Centre. Previously I was working on the COINVENT project at the School of Music studies in the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and, after that, as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the same Department on personal research scholarship. I hold a PhD from the Department of Mathematics, University of Patras Greece since 2014 where I graduated in 2006 and received my M. Sc. Diploma from in the program "Mathematics and Modern Applications" in 2009. My current research interests include the application of Artificial Intelligence methods, focusing on Conceptual Blending, in automatic melodic harmonisation, music information retrieval and automatic music composition. I am also a member of the Cognitive and Computational Musicology group (CCM).
I have also been an entrepreneur in the industry of hand-held devices applications, after being awarded with a one-year startup incubator program (EGG), while currently I am an independent iOS apps developer and freelance music/audio programmer. The apps I have so far developed are iJam for iOS, Atmosound for iOS and Drume for iPad, Echo Pitch for iPhone (with Avi Bortnick), while I also helped on CPU performance enhancements for Avi Bortnick's Time Guru app. For more information about my apps and my programming quests you can visit my blog.
