Research Activities

Limnology: concerning hydrobiological research on different lacustrine, natural and reservoirs, with special attention for the dynamics of the concentrations of algal's nutrients; phytoplancton's photosynthetic pigments; the primary production with a particular attention for phytoplancton's taxonomy, the diversity of eutrofication index and the biomass.

The principal lakes studies have been: L. Iseo (1971/72-76/77); L. del Corlo (76/77); L. di Tovel (78/79); L. Trasimeno (76/77); 12 reservoirs in northern Italy (80/83); L. di Ledro (87/88); L. Pantano di Pignola e L. Camastra (89/90).

At present we are carrying on studies on high altitude lakes: L. la Stua (by the Dolomiti Bellunesi national Park) and L. Cavallazza, L. Colbricon superiore and inferiore (by the Paneveggio/Pale di S. Martino natural park).

Algae as bioindicators of agroecosystem quality.
