On my mind

The Bristol Boys, playing at Jitters in Southington

At Mocha Maya's, a coffeehouse in Shelburne Falls, Mass.

I was playing at the West End Farmers Market in Hartford when Carlos Hernandez Chavez, a friend and former band-mate in Tierra Mestiza, dropped by to play some blues, bluegrass and rancheras.

Charter Oak Bluegrass:

(L-R) Bruce Baldyga, me, Dave Jacobson, Yvonne Sekcenski; Kenny Sekcenski.

Thomas Hart Benton, one of America's greatest artists, painted the work at left, "Pop and the Boys," which features a lap-style guitar player. Though it has a Depression-era tone, it was actually painted in 1963. The New Britain (Conn.) Museum of American Art has an extensive Benton collection.

The Bristol Boys: (L-R) Dave Orlomoski, me and Dave Aston.

Luthier Dick Deneve with my new maple large body dobro.

Horizon Blue: Me, Monique Hill and Peter Hill.

On the way to the Music Under New York auditions at Grand Central Station, May 19, 2006.
