Welcome to the professional page of Matthew Carlson! I am currently a Visiting Lecturer in the Department of Philosophy at the University of New Mexico. Last term, I taught courses in symbolic logic and the history of early modern philosophy. In the Spring term, I am teaching introduction to philosophy, symbolic logic, and social and political philosophy.
This summer, I will be teaching a course in early modern philosophy at UNM, and then I will be moving to start a position as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Philosophy at Wabash College.
For more details about my professional activities, please consult the links on the left.
I recently earned a PhD in philosophy from Indiana University, where I wrote a dissertation concerning the epistemology of logic under the direction of Gary Ebbs. My research, as you might expect, primarily concerns areas of intersection between epistemology and the philosophy of logic.
In my copious amounts of spare time, I enjoy lifting weights, baking bread, taking photographs, and watching football.
