I am Associate Professor of Computational Engineering at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, where I am member of the Laboratori de Càlcul Numèric (LaCàN). I am also affiliated researcher at the International Centre for Numerical Methods in Engineering (CIMNE), a Centre of Excellence Severo Ochoa, and affiliated faculty at the Institute of Mathematics of UPC-BarcelonaTech (IMTech).
Before joining UPC as faculty, I held several postdoctoral positions, including Senior Postdoctoral Researcher at CIMNE and Distinguished Postdoctoral Researcher at UPC. I developed my PhD in Applied Mathematics at CMAP, Centre de Mathématiques Appliquées de l'Ecole polytechnique, in collaboration with the Institut Polytechnique des Sciences Avancées (IPSA) and Inria Saclay's DeFI Team. I received an MSc in Mathematical Engineering from Politecnico di Milano with a major in computational methods for engineering and optimisation, after developing my Master thesis within Inria Sophia Antipolis' OPALE Team.
My research interests lie in numerical methods for PDEs (finite element, discontinuous Galerkin, finite volume), reduced order models, scientific machine learning, domain decomposition, shape and topology optimisation, a posteriori error estimates and adaptivity, with application to computational fluid dynamics, computational mechanics, image segmentation, industrial problems and sustainability.
