I am currently a post-doctoral researcher in collaboration with Bruce McCandliss at the Educational Cognitive Neuroscience Lab at Stanford University.  I received my PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience at The University of Chicago under the supervision of Sian Beilock.

My research gathers converging sources of evidence from behavior (accuracy and RT), neuroimaging (fMRI) and physiology (salivary cortisol) to advance basic cognitive science with educational implications.  Specific interests:

  •  Cognitive and neural bases of mathematical performance
  •  Typical and atypical patterns of numerical development
  •  Development and performance impact of negative affective reactions (e.g., math anxiety)
  •  The role of individual differences in attentional control
