I am currently an Associate Professor at the Business School, Universidad Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez in Viña del Mar, Chile. I obtained my M.A. and Ph.D. in Economics at the University of Maryland (College Park) and I have been Associate Visiting Professor at the Department of Economics of Dartmouth College, Visiting Research Scholar at International Monetary Fund, and consultant for the World Bank at the Development Economics Research Group in the International Trade Division and the Development Division. I currently serve as President of the Chilean Economic Association, where I was elected for the 2020-2021 period.

My research is focused in topics related to development economics, including the assessment of educational policies, labor markets, public health, and international trade.
