Due to the generous hearts of Coralie Voth of Viva Optical, and Basilis & Dina Haritos and Niki Charitou of Luna Kitchen & Barthere will be a fundraiser thrown for Maternal Mental Health (MMH) - for the emotional wellbeing of our pregnant and postpartum moms in Saskatchewan who suffer from Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs): Postpartum Depression & Anxiety, OCD and Psychosis.

Maternal Depression and Anxiety affect 1 in 5 women. There are potential effects to the whole family, as 10% of partners experience depression and anxiety, more if the mother is depressed. Parental Mental Health issues can affect child health and development. Treating anxiety may help to prevent depression. To learn more about Maternal Mental Health (MMH), click here OR click on any of the other links found on the left-hand side menu.

Portion of the proceeds will go towards resource materials and a conference to be held on May 2, 2018, the same day as the annual World Maternal Mental Health Day. This conference is intended for all healthcare providers, government officials, educators, students, mothers, partners, family, and friends to strategize our next steps in releasing the stigma of mental health issues in mothers during pregnancy and postpartum, one year after baby is born.
