Mat and Ron are an American singer-songwriter duo consisting of Mat Silverstein and Ron Elter. They formed the group "The Sedernaders" in 2006, and had their first taste of success with the minor hit "Moses Shmoses (music video)," which was written to the tune of close friend John Lennon's "The Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill." As Mat and Ron, the duo rose to fame in 2008, backed by the hit single "Seder Man." The song was featured in the landmark film Elinor's Youtube Video, propelling them further into the public consciousness with a whopping 130 views. They are well known for their close relationship and sometimes unstable harmonies. Their last album, Is that an Afikomen Hiding in Your Pants, or Are You Just Happy to See Me? was delayed several times due to artistic disagreements, namely over why there needed to be a bridge when they could just part the water like Moses did.
They were among the most popular Passover recording artists of the 2010's; among their biggest hits, in addition to "The Sounds of Silence Don't Exist at the Elter-Silverstein Seder", were "I Am a Rock", "Homeward Bound--40 Years", "Mrs. Robinsonberg", "Bridge over Troubled Water", and "The Boychic Boxer". They have received several Golden Idols and are inductees of the In 2010, Burning Bush Magazine ranked Mat and Ron #40 on their list of the 100 Greatest Passover Artists of All Time.[1]
Passover 2010''s Sederneder performance was a smashing success, where they introduced new hit Passover Time. The single will be available on iTunes.
The two artists had a tough act to follow, but this year, in 2014, they proved they could keep on rocking with the all new hit, "Moses Be Goode (you can watch the performance here)."
Their next scheduled reunion is said to take place at a private Seder party in Orange County, CA during Passover 2015. The duo says they will be performing their new hit single, "Hava Nagila Sunrise," but rumors have surfaced that they're actually working on Israelite-American Folk Songs, including, "I've Been Working on the Pyramids," "I Killed an A***," and "He'll be Comin' Down the Mountain."
