Massachusetts Shooters Foundation

Promoting the safe and lawful use of firearms through public education.

The primary mission of The Massachusetts Shooters Foundation is education, training, and the advancement of the shooting sports through related junior programs in all standard shooting disciplines. The original name of the Foundation as incorporated in 1990 by Michael D. Yacino, was “The GOAL Foundation”. It was created to take the place of the old “State Rifle & Pistol Association of Massachusetts”. In June of 2012 the board of directors unanimously voted to change the name to The Massachusetts Shooters Foundation.

Since our establishment in 1990, the Foundation has raised and spent over $500,000 on Education and Training programs and financial support for juniors all across the state. Hundreds of gun owners and non-gun owners have contributed to our cause. There are now junior shooting programs in twice as many clubs as there were only 10 years ago and they aren’t just for .22 caliber guns. The SCTP shotgun program has begun to grow and both high power and air gun shooting with both rifles and handguns is everywhere.

The Foundation is tax exempt under the IRS code as a 501(c)3 corporation, making donations fully tax deductible under the law. The Foundation is overseen by a board of directors that establishes policy and ensures that the mission of the Foundation is carried out. It is not controlled by any other entity.
