“We are what we repeatedly do, excellence then is not an act, but a habit.”   -Aristotle

What is self-discipline?
Self-discipline is the ability of the individual to adhere to actions, thoughts, and behaviors that result in personal improvement instead of instant gratification.

Why is self-discipline important?
Self-discipline gives you the power to follow your decisions, stick to them and not change your mind too often, and therefore be able to reach your goals.

Students who practice self-discipline:
  • Complete their assignments.
  • Stay on task.
  • Work toward personal and community goals.
  • Ignore peer pressure.
  • Try again and again.
  • Choose productive rather than destructive activities.
    Control their tempers.
