2019 Drumline Mini-Camp Schedule

Friday & Saturday, May 24 & 25

Mini-camp is for ALL members of the drumline, including field and front-line ensemble (pit) players.

** NO SANDALS, FLIP FLOPS, CELL PHONE USE, ETC at ANY rehearsal.**

Schedule:

     Friday, May 24

Mini-camp begins at 9 a.m.

Be on time and ready to participate!  Early is on time.  On time is late!  If you dont arrive until 9 a.m. you are late.

     Bring your sticks or mallets if you have them, your 3-ring binders, etc.  Be prepared to go outside.have jackets, sunscreen, etc.

     We will break for lunch at approximately noon.  Thanks to Kim Hettel and some other parent volunteers, lunch will be catered (your lunches will be paid from your band fees) or you  may bring a sack lunch.  We will eat as a group, maybe watch drumline videos, etc.  You may NOT leave school during lunch.

     Practice resumes at 1:30 p.m.

     Dinner break at 5 p.m. Students must leave school during our dinner break.

    Practice resumes at 6:30 p.m.  Be back on time!!!

     Day #1 ends at 9 p.m. Make sure you are picked up on time, go home and get some rest!!!

            Saturday, May 25

Mini-camp resumes at 9 a.m.

Wake up, be on time and ready to participate.

     We will break for lunch at noon.  Again, lunch will be catered or you may bring a sack lunch.  You may NOT leave school during lunch.

     Rehearsal resumes at 1:30.

     Day 2 ends at 3 p.m.  Make sure you are picked up on time.  If you aren’t tired, you didn’t work hard enough!

The success of the drumline and YOUR personal success as a member of the drumline depend on how much we can accomplish at mini-camp

Drumline Spring Schedule

Spring rehearsals for this year’s drumline will take place from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday evenings.  The dates are:

March 12 and 19…..yes, two weeks in a row!!!

April 2, 16 and 30.

May 7….yes, with April 30, that’s two weeks in a row!!

May 21.

If school is delayed on a practice day, we will still practice that evening.  If school is cancelled on a practice day, that evening’s rehearsal is also cancelled. .  If you are unable to attend a rehearsal, notify Mr. Thissen and/or a drumline staff member to obtain an excused absence.  Advance written notification from a parent or guardian is preferred.

Drumline mini-camp takes place Friday & Saturday May 24 & 25.  Friday from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m.  Saturday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.  Additional information re: mini-camp will come later.

To be in this year’s drumline, you must attend spring rehearsals and mini-camp.

Remember: No sandals, flip flops, etc. are to be worn at ANY rehearsal. No cell phone use during rehearsals.

Visitation for Stella and her family will be held 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, November 25, 2018 at Underwood Funeral Home followed by a short service to celebrate her life. The family requests callers wear casual clothing they would wear around Stella. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.underwoodfuneralhome.com.

The Marysville High School Marching Band has sadly lost one of their own today. Stella was rarely seen in the band room without a smile on her face and that smile will be missed. 

If you watched any of our contest shows this season Stella could be seen in our pit section running back and forth from one instrument to another. 

We would like to express our deepest condolences to all of her family and friends.
