We're gearing up for the holidays at Marx and have big sale and race news to help you surge into the season! To kick it off in high-tech style, we're offering a free pair of Feetures! socks with the purchase of any pair of shoes. Feetures! uses top wicking technology to draw sweat away from your feet, which will keep them warm during chilly winter runs. So be sure to take advantage of this offer (available through November) when you pick up your next pair of shoes.
Marx is also hosting a Thanksgiving Sale from 11/26-28! On those days, you can take advantage of 15% off everything in the store!
Check out the news below for information on the Acton Turkey Trot and exciting store offers and new products. And look for future newsletters to introduce our new staff!
We now have even more gear for winter! With a range of hues from Nike to brighten your dull winter days, the store is now more colorful than New Orleans at Mardi Gras! And come check out the new ASICS jackets and pants to keep you warm and dry.
We're also the place for CW-X tights, conditioning wear that offers targeted support to the lower back, core, and knee joints for overall stability and power. Available in both men's and women's sizes, CW-X products improve movement efficiency, reduce muscle fatigue, accelerate recovery, and offer UPF 40+ for UVA and UVB protection. Basically, these tights give you magic legs!
We now have a Runner's Holiday Shop at our location in Lowell (118 Merrimack Street). This is the best place for holiday shopping deals on both new and older models of running shoes, gear, and apparel! Open November 11 through December 30, days and hours for the Holiday Shop are:
Friday November 26 is the 2nd Annual Acton Turkey Trot, a 5k race to benefit the Acton Food Pantry. Online registration is open until November 23, and number pickup will be available at Marx from 11/22-24 at the Acton location, or you can pick up materials on race day at 8 a.m. See the Acton-Boxborough Community Education website for more details.
The Thoreau Club of Concord and Marx are joining forces to organize and direct the 2011 Emerson 5k next May--just one of the ways they're working together to meet your fitness needs.
Mark also recently visited Thoreau to demo the store's new gait analysis software, wowing personal trainers with our ability to analyze a runner's footstrike and recommend the best shoes.
With the partnership between Thoreau and Marx, you now have two local resources working as one to meet your goals and keep you going strong. Thoreau members can enjoy discounts on shoe purchases at the store, and Marx customers should inquire with Thoreau about taking advantage of a Community Connections Pass to the club.
What happens when you take 25 of the best young runners across state lines to race? On November 14, Mark got to find out when he drove the best running talent from Massachusetts to compete at the New England Junior Olympics. He's still recovering from the fun and excitement!
Mark's group of top local youth runners, Team RUN, traveled to Rhode Island to take on the competition in the USATF Junior Olympic New England Cross Country Championship. Team RUN proved they can hang with the best!
Team RUN's boys' and girls' Midget (age 11-12) and boys' Youth (age 13-14) teams finished third, qualifying them to head to regionals. The Youth girls finished 4th overall, allowing them a provisional qualification for the next level of competition. The top three teams in each division go on to compete at Regionals on the same course on November 21.
Congratulations to the runners!
