Practice Introduction

 
Martin Kirby Associates is a small consulting engineering practice providing structural and civil engineering design services based in the historic city of Winchester in Hampshire. The practice provides a personalised service to both private and public sector clients with a particular emphasis on historic buildings although is also appointed to work on modern buildings.
 
The practice is led by Martin Kirby a Chartered Civil Engineer with over 30 years experience in civil and structural engineering design on a wide range of projects from concept to construction. Martin is also a Conservation Accredited Engineer (CARE)  being one of only around thirty engineers to be recognised by ICE and IStructE as a Conservation Accredited Engineer.

The Conservation Accreditation Register for Engineers (CARE) http://www.careregister.org.uk/  identifies civil and structural engineers skilled in the conservation of historic structures and sites.

Over the past 15 years Martin has focussed on conservation in historic civil and structural engineering, setting up Martin Kirby Associates in 2013. He gained the Architectural Association Postgraduate Diploma in Building Conservation in 2004 and became an Conservation Accredited Engineer in 2007.

The majority of our clients are private owners of old and Listed buildings, but we also carry out work for public bodies such as Local Authority, Museum trusts and The National Trust.
