Martin Schröder is a social scientist interested in social inequality, welfare states, varieties of capitalism, economic sociology and morality. He received his PhD from the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies in Cologne and studied at the University of Osnabrück, the University of Cologne, Sciences Po Paris and Harvard University. He currently researches how social inequality and what is seen as morally appropriate inequality interact. He holds a professorship for economic sociologiy at the University of Marburg.
