Christian was born and raised in Westchester, but has worked as a biologist high in the mountain marshes of Idaho,  down in the bayous of rural Louisiana, and in the Adirondack Park in northern New York.

Outdoor sports, travel, and recreation have always been a core interest for Christian, so when the opportunity to assist the Marsh Sanctuary with re-establishing their trail system, developing new programs, and planning  for the future, he could not pass up the chance.

"The Marsh Sanctuary is a inspiring piece of open space, full of surprising and unique features.  It's a pleasure to introduce, or re-introduce, people to this local treasure that is just hiding under their noses."

Alberto Maidana - Caretaker

Alberto was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and has lived in the Westchester area since 1989.   Alberto has been a carpenter for the last 27 years, with expertise in all facets of the trade including fine trimwork, framing, roofing, whole house construction  and renovation, he can even do electrical and plumbing.

Alberto brought his experience to the Sanctuary in 1996, when he was asked by Sanctuary president,  Tim Ghriskey, to renovate Sarles Street house #2 and replace the roof on the  old stable.  The renovation and roof work was completed long ago, but the list of new projects  is always  being added to.

An asset to our team, Alberto brings not only general construction experience in all fields but, ALSO, all the necessary tools to get the job done.  He has been an invaluable piece of the puzzle for over ten years.

Alberto is also a private contractor and handles construction projects from small renovations to new home construction.
