Directions to the                    Marsh Sanctuary

How do I get from where I am, to where you are ?

The Marsh Sanctuary is often times MISPLACED on mapquest and google maps - they place us a few blocks too far to the west - somewhere in Leonard Park.  We are actually a few blocks closer to I-684, but not all the way down by Westmoreland Sanctuary.  Here are some quick directions...

Directions by car:

From New Rochelle, Mamaroneck, White Plains, Greenwich, CT and point to southeast:

Head north to  I-684, via the Hutchinson Parkway.

Travel north on I-684 for approximately 12.7 miles to exit 4 (Mount Kisco/Bedford).

From the exit ramp, make a left onto Rte. 172/South Bedford Road (WEST), and travel approximately 1.5 miles, Sarles Street will come up on your left.

Make a left onto Sarles Street and head south approximately 0.4 miles, the entrance will come up on your right after a curve in the road.

Make this right and visitor parking is in the field on the left.

For Brookside Parking area, continue down Rte. 172 (do not turn onto Sarles St.) for another block, Brookside is the second driveway on the left.

From South Salem, North Salem, Somers, Brewster, Danbury and points northeast:

Use I-84 to I-684 South, to exit 4 (Mount Kisco/Bedford).

Make a right onto Rte. 172/ South Bedford Road (WEST) and then follow the directions above for Sarles Field Parking and Brookside Parking.

From Yorktown, Putnam Valley, Mahopac, Peekskill and points north along the Taconic:

Head south on Taconic State Parkway to Rte. 134 East exit (2nd off-ramp).

The exit should bring you around a sharp curve and leave you travelling east on Rte. 134, ending at Rte. 100.

Make a left and travel less than a mile north onRte. 100 to a right hand turn onto Seven Bridges Road.

Approximately 1  mile down Seven Bridges Road, you will come to the stoplight intersection with Rte. 133, make a left and head east on Rte. 133 into the center of Moutn Kisco.

Continue straight through Mount Kisco, bearing left Rte. 133 ends, becoming Rte. 117 south.  Continue down Rte. 117 through Mount Kisco's village area, until the instersection with Rte. 172, where you will make a left.

Travel EAST on Rte. 172 for approximately 1/2 mile, Brookside parking area is on the right.

For Sarles Field parking area, continue down Rte. 172 for one additional block, turn right on Sarles Street.

Head south on Sarles for approximately 0.4 miles, after a curve in the road and make right at entrance.

Visitor parking is in the field on left side.

From Valhalla, Yonkers, Elmsford, Mount Vernon, the Bronx and other points south:

Use the Sprain Parkway to the SawMill Parkway, exit onto Reader's Digest Road (right side).

Remember when exiting from Sarles Field parking area and returning to Rte. 172 to go WEST, you must make a right turn onto Linden Lane which will bring you out to Rte. 172 a bit further east, but it will avoid the obscured intersection.  There are "No Left Turn" signs posted on Sarles Street going to Rte. 172.
