I am the physical chemist at IU South Bend and have been here since 2002.  I graduated from Virginia Tech with a B.S. in biochemistry and a Ph.D. in chemistry.  Before coming to Indiana I taught chemistry in Thailand for two years at Ubon Ratchathani University and also served as a one-year replacement for the physical chemist at Berea College in Kentucky.  My research concerns the calculation of error bars for energies and other properties of atomic and molecular systems.  Students of chemistry, biochemistry, and physics have worked with me on projects; three students have published their research. I typically teach the following courses:
  • C101 Elementary Chemistry I
  • C106 Principles of Chemistry II
  • C361 Physical Chemistry of Bulk Matter
  • C362 Physical Chemistry of Molecules
  • N390 Environmental Chemistry

For your success in these (and other) courses please consider some advice.   Do not hesitate to contact me if you need help or have concerns.  My office is Northside Hall 067 and my email address is mmarmori "at" iusb.edu.  The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at IU South Bend offers undergraduate degrees in chemistry (BA and BS) and biochemistry (BS) as well as minors in both subjects.
