Until my final year as an undergraduate at Lehigh University I was a piano performance major. While pursuing this major, I gave a junior recital in 2010. The audio links from the concert are below:
Bach Prelude & Fugue no. 13 in F-sharp major from The Well-tempered Clavier Bk. 1
Beethoven Sonata no. 18 in E-flat major op. 21 no. 3 mvmt 1 (Allegro)
Beethoven Sonata no. 18 in E-flat major op. 21 no. 3 mvmts 2,3 (Scherzo. Allegretto vivace; Menuetto. Moderato e grazioso)
Beethoven Sonata no. 18 in E-flat major op. 21 no. 3 mvmt 4 (Presto con fuoco)
I also played soccer at Lehigh and professionally/semi-professionally in the USA (FC Sonic Lehigh Valley), Germany (Rot-Weiss Frankfurt), and New Zealand (Waitakere City FC).
My parents, Joseph Whitmeyer and Rosemary Hopcroft, are both sociologists. So, (to steal part of a joke from Max Stinchcombe) I am an example of "upward social mobility." Though perhaps I got the sign wrong.
In the summer of 2019, I got married (in addition to preparing for the job market). Here are some pictures.
