The authenticity of the Christian Bible is proved beyond a shadow of a doubt by fulfilled prophecy.

 The following are some examples:

  • A prophecy of the place of Messiah’s birth is found in Micah 5:2.
Matthew 2:1 gives the fulfillment of Micah’s prophecy, exactly.

  • Daniel 9:24-25 prophesied of the time of Messiah’s birth.
That prophecy was fulfilled (Luke 2:1-2), four hundred eighty-three years after the commandment was given to restore and to build Jerusalem.
  • Isaiah 7:14 prophesied that Messiah would be born of a virgin.
Matthew 1:18 and Luke 1:26-35 record the fulfillment of this prophecy.

  • Jeremiah 31:15 prophesied of the slaying of babies at Bethlehem.
Matthew 2:18 records the fulfillment of Jeremiah’s prophecy.
  • Hosea 11:1 prophesied the flight of the holy family into Egypt.
Matthew 2:13-15 records the fulfillment of this event.
  • Isaiah 9:1-2 prophesied of Messiah’s ministry in Galilee.
    Matthew 4:12-16 gives the fulfillment.
  • Isaiah 53:7 prophesied that Messiah would be rejected:
John 1:11 records the fulfillment of the prophecy.
  • Zechariah 9:9 prophesied of the triumphal entry into Jerusalem by Messiah.
    John 12:13-14  records the fulfillment.
  • Psalm 41:9 predicted that a friend would betray Messiah.
Mark 14:10 records that prophetic fulfillment.
  • Zechariah 11:12 prophesied that Messiah would be sold for thirty pieces of silver.
The fulfillment was recorded in Matthew 26:15.
  • Zechariah 11:13 prophesied that the 30 pieces of silver would be returned and used to buy a potter’s field.
This was fulfilled in Matthew 27:6-7.

While there are many more examples of fulfilled Old Testament prophecy recorded in the New Testament I feel these are sufficient to convince an honest inquirer that the Bible is true. I read the testimony of a Jew who got saved from having studied fulfilled prophecy.

The Bible is a library containing sixty-six (66) books.
