As the Local Section Career Program Coordinator for the California Section, I initiated in 2000 and co-lead with the chair of our Employment Committee CAT (Career Assistance & Transition) meetings to help anyone in need of career assistance. Our CAT meetings are held year-round on the third Sunday evening of every month from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the California Section office in Walnut Creek, CA. Our Employment Committee (or CAT Team which includes former job seekers) offers friendly networking support, career advice, resume reviews, interviewing tips as well as ACS career and professional development resources plus tea and cookies to anyone interested (including members of neighboring sections and AIChE).
