Gravitational Lensing and Gas Giants 2015 36 x 60 Acrylic on Wood
I completed this piece in late December of 2015, just in time to show it off at my New Year's Eve Party.
It was a big success! (Both the painting and the party.) Gravitational lensing is a phenomenon in which
images of deep space objects are distorted as their light is deflected by a gravitational field. Gas giants are, of course big gassy and gorgeous planets, like Jupiter. Just for fun, I've added a binary star system near the top centre.
