Dr Marian Quigley (PhD Monash University; BA Chisholm Institute of Technology; HDTS (Art &Craft) Melbourne State College) is an artist, writer and former researcher & editor.
Formerly a Senior Lecturer at Monash University, an animation curator for australianscreen online and a secondary art teacher, she returned to painting in 2008.
A finalist in a number of national award exhibitions, including the Portia Geach Memorial Award and the Maritime Art Award, she has received many Gippsland awards; has held four solo exhibitions and participated in many joint and group exhibitions.
Marian has exhibited in Sol Gallery, Fitzroy; Bluethumb Art Gallery, Richmond; Art Lovers Australia Gallery, Collingwood; AGRA Gallery, Camberwell; Quadrant Gallery Hawthorn; Cambridge Studio Gallery, Collingwood; Town & Country Gallery, Yarragon; Muse Gallery, Beechworth/Milawa; Meeniyan Art Gallery; Berninneit Cultural Centre, Cowes; Mingara Gallery, Cowes and ArtSpace, Wonthaggi. She has also exhibited in the Affordable Art Fair, Melbourne since 2023.
Marian is represented by Sol Gallery. Her paintings are also available via the online galleries Bluethumb Art and ColourSpace. She is a life member of the Artists' Society of Phillip Island Region and ArtSpace Wonthaggi; a member of Melbourne and Victorian Artists Collective (MAVA) and Phillip Island Contemporary Exhibition Space. She is also a founding member of Ibis Writers.
