"Son, there are some things I need to tell you about ...innnnput."
I will never be safe I will never be sane I will always be weird inside I will always be lame...**
(I sometimes quote songs that have zero relevance to MY personal experience,
but that came to mind when I looked at something after the fact a
nd were associated enough that they seemed appropriate and/or catchy.
I also like the song Santa Monica--it had a great video.
My parents are super, don't walk away thinking I have ...issues.)
I mean, I do have issues: Wall E looks a heck of a lot like Juanito 5.
However, I love Pixar, and have heard that this movie might not suck.
But there is sort of the line between homage and appropriation
that I worry might have been crossed, like one of the issues I have with
[Guys behind Family Guy : Chris Ware :: Stewie : Jimmy Corrigan].
So...I'm a little torn. Maybe this will lead to a bump in DVD sales for Short Circuit...or Wargames....or Silent Running (SR for short).
I guess...Johnny5 will always be America's First Robot Citizen.
He can open a bank! America's First Robot Citizen Bank.
At the very least, Disney/Pixar are better at dealing with things that could be incredibly "toyetic"... which means we can expect a bump in the number of roboticists in about...18 years. Woohoo.
Girls! IT IS OKAY TO LIKE ROBOTS!
Look at Ally Sheedy--she turned out okay.
I wonder if it is obvious which pages I have played with well in advance of their going live. Here's a grim reality: Doing something publicly once a week usually means that things are done in fits and starts and we keep a little bit on the back burner for the weekends I am busy or out of town or dealing with broken things. I'm a planner! I plan ahead!
There are even odds that, I suppose, I might always be lame.
**Coming out of Wall-E, I believe that would sound like a white person dialing the phone, as per the imitation of Tracy Jordan:
