My research interests span the broad field of wireless communications and networking. Regarding point-to-point wireless communications, my main contributions are:
  • information rate analysis and iterative receiver design for communications over the phase  noise channel;
  • achievable rate analysis and iterative receiver design for communications of correlated sources over faded channels.
Regarding wireless networking, my main contributions are:
  • performance analysis and improved detection strategies for collaborative cognitive networking;
  • performance analysis of wireless sensor networks with clustered topologies;
  • analytical modelling of the IEEE 802.15.4. MAC protocol;
  • low-complexity network coding strategies with applications to distributed storage;
  • low-complexity signal processing algorithms with applications to event detection in wireless sensor networks.
