I always liked Roman Pichler a lot and send regularly collaborators and customers to his workshops and training. Below his input about product vision. The main activities are

I’ve named the tool that I use Product Vision Board. The board allows the product owner and the team to map out the key aspects of their product, and it helps the organisation decide if money should be spent on a new product. The product vision board describes seven aspects of a product: The target group, the needs addressed, the essential product features, its relationship to competitor products, the value it creates, its feasibility, and its product or user interface design. Additionally, it summarizes the vision in a one-sentence statement:
