The lean and agile meeting in Zürich LAS 2010 was an interesting gathering about agile and Scrum approaches and experiences. I got a chance to see again Henrik Kniberg and talk about Scrum, Kanban and the Swiss fondue. I also could talk with Mary and Tom Poppendieck. We had already a chat at the SET 2010 also in Zürich.
I had a speech at the LAS 2010 and presented our experience with Enterprise Scrum and Scrum of Scrums. In particular I explain how we do controlling and application portfolio management in our company bbv Software Services, a software service company with 120 engineers. The feedback of the participants showed me that agile controlling and agile portfolio management are hot topics.
We could show how controlling is performed in an agile based company. The controlling does not interfere with the Scrum approach and provides all MIS data upper management and the CFO need. We are still fighting to reach the goal defined by Ken Schwaber "5 minutes per day for a developer, 15 minutes per day for a Scrum manager or a line manager", but we are almost there. The MIS data provides accurate controlling information for all projects with high accuracy - standard error below 1% - and realtime update - under one week for the whole company -.
