About me

I am a Ph.D. candidate in Economics at Brown University, working on gender, religion, and female labor force participation in developing countries.

I will be in the 2023/2024 job market.

You can find my CV here.

In my job market paper, I explore how media has influenced the rise of Brazilian Pentecostalism, shedding light on the subsequent shifts in values and behaviors endorsed by the church. Other areas of my research have touched upon:  a) the impact of free childcare on mothers' work outcomes in São Paulo, b) the challenges mothers face in their professions when caring for a child affected by the Zika virus epidemic, and c) the ripple effects of conservative evangelical mayors on sexual education in schools, and the resulting implications for teen pregnancies.
