PERSONALITY

Cockapoos are very inteligent and highly trainable.  They are curious and eager to perform.  They are outgoing and happy.  They love children and do well with single owners as well as families. Most cockapoos are good with children, but training is very important.

GENDER

Choosing a male or female depends on your preference for your family.  The only time gender really matters is where breeding is concerned.

SPAYING OR NEUTERING

Benefits of spaying your female: No heat cycles, less desire to roam, reduces or eliminates risk of tumors or cancer if done before the first heat cycle  and reduces the number of unwanted puppies.

Benefits of neutering you male: Reduces or eliminates risk of spraying or marking, less desire to roam, eliminates risk of tesicular cancer, reduces risk of prostate disease, reduces the number of unwanted puppies and decreases aggresive behavior.

COAT

Their hair is usually dense.  It is many times wavy or even curly.  They do not usually shed.  They are usually hypoallergenic.

GROOMING
You must brush your dog regularly to prevent matting.  As your puppy matures to an adult he or she will require clipping every 2 to 4 months.

TAILS

Their tails may be docked or undocked depending on the choice of the breeder. We do not dock the tails of our puppies.

LIFESPAN

They usually live between 14 and 18 years.  Some can live up to 20 years.

ACTIVITY

Their activity level is moderate.  They adapt well to all types of homes.  They do not function well as outdoor dogs.
