I am currently working on mathematical models for the evolution of induced social behavior. In particular, I am studying the coevolution of maternal manipulation and offspring resistance to manipulation. This seeks to understand the role of the pervasive extrinsic caste determination across eusocial taxa.
A mathematical approach to the species problem:
I previously worked on a mathematical expression of Ernst Mayr's biological species concept. This work points out that gradual speciation may cause individuals to belong to multiple species, which prevents species from being discrete.
