Manotick Public School is a JK to 5 school that encourages a community feeling. We pride ourselves in promoting a positive, safe, and challenging learning environment where a
 sense of belonging, ownership and of caring for one another prevails, fostering academic excellence, growth of self-esteem and wise decision-making.

Our instructional day is from 8:15 am to 2:45 pm.  Students are supervised on the yard beginning at 8:00 am.

Creating this environment requires the cooperation, full attention, and best efforts of students, teachers, and parents working together. Students at Manotick wish to be treated fairly. In return they are expected to behave towards others in the same way.

  • Letter from Director Jennifer Adams Dear Parents,I wanted to make you aware of recent changes  in the labour situation and share with you how those changes are affecting elementary schools.The elementary teachers union (ETFO)  is in a legal strike position. Across Ontario, the union has applied sanctions which means that teachers are not performing some of their regular duties.Parents may notice the following:Elementary field trips are cancelled;Fundraising - teachers will not participate in fundraising including the collection of money for school programs.  This may affect the operation of milk and lunch programs and other activities.   • Student Accident Insurance Creating a caring and safe environment for our students is our top priority. Unfortunately, despite all reasonable precautions being taken, accidents can still happen. Some injuries may result in medical, dental or other expenses that are not covered by provincial health care or employer group plans.  As a parent/guardian, you become responsible for these expenses.Student accident insurance is available for purchase, on a voluntary basis, through Reliable Life Insurance Company. Forms can either be picked up from the school office or downloaded at www.binks.ca, or you may apply online at www.insuremykids.com.

  • Welcome to the 2015-2016 School Year! Welcome to all of our new and returning families.  We hope that everybody had a great summer.We look forward to welcoming you tomorrow at school between 8:00 and 8:15 on the north side of the school.  In the event of rain, we will meet in the gym.  Students and parents are to look for their grade level sign and teachers will help direct students into their classes.School starts at 8:15.  We look forward to seeing everybody on September 8!

  • Labour Relations Update - June 17 This is the most current labour relations update from the OCDSB.  Please visit http://www.ocdsb.ca/med/Labour_Relations/elementary/Pages/default.aspx for any further updates.June 16, 2015UPDATE: Last week, the OCDSB announced that the District would be issuing report cards for students in grades 8 to 12. Students in JK to grade 7 will receive a Letter of Promotion.  At that time, we also indicated that marks were still being submitted to principals by our elementary teachers and that we would be reviewing those submissions to assess how that information might be shared with parents.  We are currently in the process of doing that review and are developing a district-wide process that will be ...
